Abstract: The 10-volume Song-printed Collected Works of Xie Youpan held by Shanghai Museum is the sole existing collection of poetry and essays by Xie Ke who was a renowned Linchuan scholar in the late Northern Song Dynasty. In 1152, this book was printed in Fuzhou along with Xie Yi’s Xitang Ji. Since Song, this book had been scarcely known in Chinese context. It afterwards circulated to Japan and has been collected successively by some famous Japanese scholars. In the early 1880s, this collection was brought back to China by Yang Shoujing after his travel to Japan; and he attached the inscription to the book and soon sold it to Pangxi Library owned by Pan Zuyin. This edition was donated by Sun Boyuan to Shanghai Museum. This collection, as the source edition of Xie Ke’s printed works, has great documentary value. It is helpful to examine the relation between Xie Ke and Jiangxi School of Poetry, the gradual and partial change of Jiangxi Poetical School as well as the making of The Works of Song Dignitaries.
