Abstract:

This paper expounds the global metaverse industry and its current status, as well as the three“reality” concepts of the metaverse, and believes that the key to the realization of the smart library is toenable the construction of the smart library with the metaverse technology, and to build the metaverseknowledge learning center to promote knowledge sharing and wisdom inheritance. On this basis, fourfunctions of the metaverse intelligent library are proposed: building intelligent databases with thehelp of intelligent interaction technology; extending the physical space of the library and building themetaverse space with various functions;establishing the academic center of metaverse knowledge toprovide intelligent knowledge services; and creating a “metaverse digital intelligence librarian” to solvethe shortage and loss of professional and complex talents. It emphasizes that the metaverse can bringrevolutionary and subversive changes to the library, and calls for people to understand the metaverse andthe metaverse intelligent library more rationally and patiently.
