Abstract: Taking the construction of the characteristic themed reading space of Shanghai Pudong Library as an example, this paper elaborates that, on the basis of the established central-branch service system of public library, Pudong Library has continued to deepen the construction of Pudong as “book city”, consolidate the cornerstone of Pudong’s public reading service system, expand the public cultural service system, and condense the new management mode and service empowerment concept of modernization. By integrating various social resources to enrich services, innovate service models, and broaden service paths, we can create a new pattern of characteristic themed reading space that enables space sharing and resource supplementation
