摘要： 图书馆是现代历史中一种高速演进的空间类型，其社会功能和建筑类型发生了巨大的扩充，图书馆性是反映这一空间类型与所处时代及所处城市空间之间关系的关键指标。文章基于地形学视角，把上海图书馆东馆和移动城市模型的空间拓扑原型联系起来进行解读，认为这座图书馆在近景的自然环境和远景的高密度城市空间之间创造了一座具有人文主义精神的上海地标，并通过空间的容纳性和开放性，成为上海多元文化生活的隐喻。

Abstract: Library is a rapidly evolving space in modern history. Its social function and architectural type have tremendously expanded. Libraryness is a key indicator of the relationship between this spatial type and the era and the city space. This article interprets the formal archetype of the Shanghai Library East in relation to the spatial topology archetype of the Mobile City model from a topographical perspective. It argues that the Shanghai Library East is created as a humanist landmark in Shanghai, between the near-natural environment and the high-density urban space in the far. The architectural space serves as a metaphor for Shanghai’s various cultural life through inclusiveness and openness.
