Abstract: The CRITIC evaluation method gives weight according to the comparative intensity and conflict of indicators. It has been widely used in evaluation, but there may be some problems in its application in academic journal evaluation. In view of the characteristics of academic journal evaluation, this paper proposes to replace the standard deviation with the average difference mean ratio, replace the correlation coefficient with the complex correlation coefficient, and replace the multiplicative synthesis with the additive synthesis to modify the traditional CRITIC evaluation method, thus optimizing the traditional CRITIC evaluation method. The revised CRITIC has no requirement on the data distribution of evaluation indexes, and thus more suitable for academic journal evaluation. Since the revised CRITIC follows the evaluation philosophy of the traditional CRITIC, and optimizes the latter, it is an evaluation method worth popularizing.
