摘要/Abstract

摘要： 全文下载量是目前最常用的数据库绩效评价指标，但这个指标是否能够准确有效地评估数据库的使用绩效呢？利用Web of Science平台获取数据库的引文量，通过Pearson（皮尔逊）积矩相关系数对华南理工大学图书馆馆藏外文期刊数据库的全文下载量和引文量进行相关性分析，验证全文下载量指标评估数据库使用绩效的有效性和准确性，为外文期刊数据库的使用绩效评估提供参考依据。全文下载量和引文量呈极强正相关关系，全文下载量指标评估数据库的使用绩效是客观有效的，使用连续多年的下载量数据可以提高评估结果的准确性。下载量结合引文量指标对数据库的使用绩效进行评估，评估结果的准确性更高。

Abstract: The number of full-text paper downloads is the most commonly used index of database performance evaluation, but can this index accurately and effectively evaluate the performance of database use? The number of citations in the database was obtained by using the Web of Science platform, and the correlation between full-text downloads and citations was analyzed by Pearson product-moment correlation coefficient to verify the effectiveness and accuracy of the full-text downloads index in evaluating the performance of the database use, and to provide reference for the performance evaluation of the foreign journal database use. It is shown that the correlation between full-text downloads and citations is strong. The index of full-text downloads is objective and effective to evaluate the performance of the database use. The accuracy of the evaluation results can be improved by using the data of downloads for consecutive years. The accuracy of the evaluation results is higher when both the download number and the citation index are used to evaluate the performance of the database use.
