Abstract: Theme library is the product of public library development in the new era, which now aims
to meet people’s high quality culture needs, and to provide tailored services to its patrons. At present, there
are some problems and misunderstandings in the construction of theme library that need to be addressed in
particular. In the future, theme library should follow the path of systematic development and the strategy of
integration of cultural and tourism development; strengthen the theme resource development and develop
the “theme +” model; integrate the theme library into the construction of the public library’s central-branch
system, and treat it as a key development in the “14th Five-Year Plan” of public libraries. We should
optimize the scientific layout of the theme library and build the central-branch system of the theme library,
so that more citizens can enjoy theme library services nearby.
