Abstract: This article describes the process of the change from the third generation of library talents to the fourth in the Chinese library community at the turn of the century, analyses the phenomenon of glass ceiling and gravedigger in the development of library professionals in the new century, as well as the possibility of the new break of default in the continuity of talents, thus puts forward suggestion to strengthen the training of the fifth generation of library professionals.
