Abstract:

While much emphasis is put on the protection of readers’ rights and fulfillment of librarians’
responsibilities, little is being discussed about the rights of librarians. Numerous cases reflect the conceptual
gap. A new understanding of librarians’ rights and responsibilities should be gained. And the protection of the
latter is also a critical component to guarantee the development of Chinese libraries.
