Abstract: Against the backdrop of digital globalization, the cost and difficulty of public access to literature resources are decreasing, and the dependence on libraries is also weakening. It is imperative for public libraries to transform and upgrade traditional services with new technologies. The Creative · New Space of Shanghai Library came into being at such a time, and quickly became a model of innovation service of the public libraries. Based on the interview with librarians of Creative·New Space, this paper gives a panorama of the origin, starting and developing stages of Creative·New Space, and reveals the thinking and solutions in the process of space’s development. We hope this article can provide good reference for the transformation and upgrading of public library services.
