Abstract:

FRBRization based on the core concept of FRBR has made many achievements in the library circle. But the launch of FRBRization application projects is confronted with problems and challenges. The main problems are reflected in the following aspects: identifying works and expressions, revealing of relationship,as well as structure and authority of bibliography data. The following strategies are proposed to be included in the cataloguing process: firstly, the cataloguing should be based not only on sufficiency principle but also on relationships principle; secondly, the entity hierarchy of work and expression should be embodied properly in bibliographic and authority records; thirdly, establishment of authority files should be given more attention; and fourthly, the entity relationships which can be extracted by computer should be built.
